XI Heaven

Take Fabregas, Van Persie, Walcott and Vermaelan out of the equation and Arsenal’s chances of progress in the Champions League decreases significantly.I believe that scoring against Barca is the key and the ability to, if needs be get a second, gives us an advantage. RVP particularly, would have been the key in this as he us currently the inform striker.

If Arshavin, Nasri, Song and Wilshire perform to their utmost there is a chance. The rest of the team are okay but without a bit of star quality the flaws in our average squad are prominent.
The doubt for me is players such as Rosicky (unfortunately), Denilsen, and Diaby who I maintain should be nowhere near the Arsenal squad. Bendtner, Djorou. Chamakh, Eboue are okay but again you wonder where the sparks will emanate from.
That’s not to get ahead of oneself; we have a winnable game tomorrow night and an important Premiership game on Saturday. A lot can happen between now and our trip to the Camp Nou.
My belief in our best XI remains; however when we reach deeper into the squad concern sets in. Our best XI can achieve something  this season but when that XI is compromised you wonder who will step into the breach and be a hero. You never know who may just do that and rise to the occasion. It really is “one game at a time” time between now and the end of May.
